The Sunshine Podcast is a new effort from Sunshine Free Will Baptist Church. We’ll talk about pretty much anything, but we particularly want to answer any questions or concerns you may have regarding the Bible, Christianity, culture, morality, or anything else.
As we begin this podcast, we are mostly focused on our church family directly, with episodes released on our app and our website.
How We Began
The idea for the Sunshine Podcast began in our adult Sunday School class. While completing a workbook study, a young lady in our class kept coming up with interesting questions usually at the end of class. So as our workbook was wrapping up, we decided to dedicate our class to answering some of these questions.
We set up a Facebook group and let her and whoever else in our class wanted to post questions, and week by week we began addressing them in class. In true Seinfeld style, yadda-yadda-yadda, now we have a podcast.
Who We Are
Pastor Jody Fortner is the pastor of Sunshine Free Will Baptist Church. Ever since we got our new church website and mobile app, he has been interested in establishing a podcast for the church.
Lee Green is a deacon at Sunshine and the leader of the Sunday School class out of which was birthed this podcast.
Kenny Hatfield is a preacher and trustee from Sunshine and part of the Sunday School class. He is the youngest of the four in many ways, a fact he will readily bring up given any chance.
Levi S. Johnston is the music leader, sometime teacher, and unofficial lay apologist for Sunshine, as well as editor of the podcast and administrator of this website you’re reading. If you see anything weird or which doesn’t make sense, it’s probably his fault.
